North End Writers is a registered charity and seeks to promote, maintain, improve, and advance education by the encouragement of the literary arts and creative writing in all its forms, particularly amongst people resident in North Liverpool who are disadvantaged educationally or by reason of their gender, ethnicity, race, age, disability or social background.

Established in 2007 North End Press is the publishing imprint of North End Writers. Publications include The Accent magazine (pilot issue published in April 2007). The Secret Lives of Horses (£5) - the anthology of the Liverpool Young Poets Competition 2008 - was launched on 29th March 08 and can be ordered from our usual address. Terry Cahill, who joined us as a member in 2006, has published his book "Cahill's Injustice." In 1991 his son was attacked and, although he nearly lost his life, ended up being treated like a criminal. This book details one father's long battle against extraordinary circumstances.
