Many thanks to Awards for All who have given us a grant of £10,000 in 2009 to help us run our writing groups and masterclasses and workshops.
Thanks also to Liverpool City Council who have included us in the Arts and Culture Investment programme by awarding us a grant of £4975 to run our Writing Development project.
Thanks are also due to LCVS and the Cleaner, Safer, Greener Fund for a grant of £1500 to run our Nature in the City project.
We have received funding from Awards for All, Merseyside Expanding Horizons, The Empowering Neighbourhoods Scheme (Liverpool City Council), Community Foundation for Merseyside (Community Champions award & Local Network Fund grant), LCVS and The Echo Sunrise Fund and Neighbourhood Renewal Funding. We have also received help from a generous private trust to employ our first Writing Group Facilitator. We have been beneficiaries of Business in the Arts Skillsbank programme and have had guidance, help and support from LCVS. We are indebted to Liverpool Libraries service for help in accommodating our meetings, in particular to Andy Johnson for his guidance, support and advice. We are grateful to Dave Ward, poet, editor and Co-ordinator of The Windows Project for his expert advice and help.
We are delighted to announce that Barbara Sinclair, our Skillsbank Adviser, was awarded the Merseyside ACME Award for the Business in the Arts North West Skillsbank Adviser of the Year for 2007.
We also raise funds through our Performance Evenings and sponsored readings on National Poetry Day. Special thanks to members Joyce Kenny and Kathy Baccino for their success in raising funds in 2007.
We are currently working on our funding development plan and have established a funding sub-committee. We are delighted to have the help of Alan French of the Directory of Social Change as an advisor. Alan is working closely with Trustee Gemma Lynch to improve our strategic approach.
