North End Writers is a registered charity and seeks to promote, maintain, improve, and advance education by the encouragement of the literary arts and creative writing in all its forms, particularly amongst people resident in North Liverpool who are disadvantaged educationally or by reason of their gender, ethnicity, race, age, disability or social background.

Established in 2007 this is the publishing imprint of North End Writers. Publications include The Accent magazine (pilot issue published in April 2007). We hope to publish The Accent as an annual from later in 2008 (watch this space...). The Secret Lives of Horses (£5) - the anthology of the Liverpool Young Poets Competition 2008 - was launched on 29th March 08 and can be ordered from our usual address.

National Poetry Day 9th October 08 For the third year running we are holding a big celebration on National Poetry by having our poetry marathon from 10 am - 5.30 pm in the Picton Library (William Brown Street - access - Central Library) with well known Liverpool poets and people from all areas of Liverpool; this year poets include Levi Tafari, Brian Wake, Gladys Mary Coles, Matt Simpson
